Happy Easter!

I hope everyone is having a good day!
Us doggies miss out on a lot of fun on Easter Sunday each year. As chocolate is poisonous to us all, we can't take part in Easter egg hunts- boo... Therefore, as some of the humans (I still don't understand why many of the big ones don't as well!) search around for their special treats, we have to be kept away. However, once I got lucky...

When I moved into my current home in 2010, it was Easter only a few days afterwards. My humans put me in my room while some small humans raced about MY garden looking for their chocolates. When they had found them all, they came inside and I was finally let out of my room. I hadn't been expecting to find any chocolate but then I found an abandoned bag... Inside was a wrapped-up, small Lindt egg- man, I couldn't have been happier! Obviously, I popped it in my mouth and then I thought I'd show the humans what I had found. I did my sly, low-to-the-ground run and then sat right in front of my human. She looked down and there I was, innocently sitting. ''Jasper, get that out of your mouth now!'' She said and she wedged open my jaw and pulled the whole egg out. At the time, I hadn't known that the egg could've seriously harmed me but I'm pleased that I showed my human what I had.

Now, she does find this memory quite funny as she said that I looked like I had a little plum in my mouth as I couldn't quite shut my jaw! My human says that she doesn't think I would've eaten it anyway, it was more for the attention... To be honest, I didn't REALLY want to eat it, I was just in a bad mood at the humans after they put me in my room so that I missed out on all the fun. Since then, I haven't gone near a chocolate egg but my humans are always still on the lookout for any reachable chocolate. So, remember my doggie friends: don't eat chocolate!

My Crate.

I love my crate.
It's my own space that my humans can't fit into- what could be better?! Ok, I have to admit that I do like to snuggle my humans but sometimes they are just plain annoying and I want them to go away; when they're vacuuming, for example.
My crate offers me a space where I can get away from them all and have some time by myself. And what makes it better is that it's normally in the car- woop woop!
As you may know by now, I'm slightly obsessed with travelling in the car. It means that I'm going out somewhere- why would anyone not like that?!
Often, when I think my humans are going out, I pick up my lead and do massive springer leaps with excitement as normally my humans then remember to take me with them. I run out of the house and then jump up at my human's car. As she opens the boot, I constantly jump so I can get into the back as soon as possible. Following this, I bound into my crate and sort my comfy bed out. My crate is VERY comfy!
So, if you're ever considering to buy a crate or not, get one as (most) dogs will pay you a thousand times over for it!!

Walk in the Park!

At the weekend, I went on a long walk at my local big park; yes, you heard me. not just the usual one, the BIG one. As you probably know by now, my human is slightly obsessed with taking photos of me- she has taken over 1,000 on her phone which she only got in December- so I thought I'd share some with you of my awesome walk! It has loads of streams and ponds... Woop woop!

Wet and snuggly in my crate!

Bye Crufts 2013!

That's it everyone, Crufts 2013 is over. I don't know about you but my family and I are very sad about this. This year, all of them went (I didn't...) and all of them had an incredible time. 2 of my humans were even fortunate enough to get tickets to Best in Show! More about that, later...
After an extremely relaxing night (without me) in a hotel near Birmingham, my humans set off for their second day at Crufts. Before the big finale in the evening, my humans went shopping to, obviously, get me lots and lots of treats and toys! As you can see from the photo below, the dog show is HUGE; shown below is just ONE of FIVE halls to explore!

On the humans' way round, they made sure that they took loads and loads of photos of the main attraction- dogs!

At 2:30pm, it was time for Samsung to hand over a check to Blue Cross after running the Help-A-Dog-A-Thon app which aimed to help 2,000 rescue dogs. My humans visited Samsung's amazing stand again and took a seat on the awesome paw sofas- we still want one at home! Visitors from all around the world captured this monumental event on every gadget possible and there was also time to give the gorgeous Blue Cross rescue dog a snuggle.

After some more shopping, it was finally time for the humans to take their seats in the Main Arena for the prestigious Best in Show judging! However, before the event itself, there were displays and other awards to be held. Firstly, the West Midlands Police showed the stages dogs go through to become fully-trained police dogs which was followed by the Presentation of the Police Dog Team Operational and Humanitarian Action of the Year.

After Young Kennel Club Stakes, the group winners were chosen for the Working and Pastoral groups. My humans were delighted when this beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog won their group!

In the Pastoral judging, my humans wanted either of these two adorable breeds to get through; look at those coats!

The second group winner, however,  was a lovely Australian Shepherd dog who was very popular with the crowd.
My humans were then treated to a very special performance by the one and only Mary Ray, accompanied by Richard Curtis and both of their dogs!

It was amazing! Man, I wish I were as good as those dogs at HTM...
Following this was the Friends For Life presentation of which 7-year-old Owen and Haatchi, an Anatolian Shepherd Dog, won- congratulations!

And then it was time for the event everyone had been waiting for... The judging for Best in Show had arrived. As the 6 group winners entered, the arena fell silent. Everyone was very excited!

Individually, the doggies were examined by the judge and were applauded as they completed a circle round the arena. My humans especially cheered for their favourite, the Bernese Mountain Dog!

Once they had all finished, the judge decided who he wanted to win.

The winner's table had been set and the winner's prizes (including a magnificent Samsung gadget!) were waiting to be given to their new owner. Who was going to win?

The winner was... Jilly, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen!
Ok, so my humans favourite hadn't won but Jilly was indeed VERY cute and VERY smiley- well done Jilly! The Labrador, Romeo, was awarded 2nd place and a snuggle from his human.

Well done to everyone who competed at Crufts 2013 and a special congratulation to all those who won a competition at the show. I'm so pleased for you all!
In total, nearly 149,500 people took to the NEC, Birmingham to attend Crufts, a 3% increase on last year.
An average of 1.7 million tuned in on TV to watch Jilly crowned Best in Show- that's a LOT of people! My humans are so grateful for getting tickets and still can't believe that they were there.
Bring on Crufts 2014!

My (Humans') Amazing Day at Crufts- Saturday 9th!

Yesterday, I wished my humans a good weekend (after trying to force the front door open so I could come) and off they drove to the third day of Crufts, the biggest dog show in the world!
First of all, they visited Samsung's stand as, man, it sounded incredible. And they weren't disappointed! The stand is huuuuge and, even though it was early, loads of people were trying out all of the awesome zones.
 It's designed like it's a house!
My humans chilled out on the awesome paw seats (my human wants one at home!) as they're barely any seats at Crufts; if you're tired from walking around today, visit the Samsung stand! At the same time, you can play on one of Samsung's brilliant gadgets.
At the stand, my humans were given loads of goodies such as deeley-boppers, badges and a lovely tote bag, handy for carrying all the things they bought.
One of the walls was decorated with a massive poster promoting the Help-A-Dog-A-Thon app which is aiming to help 2,000 dogs. At the moment, they're helping 1,648 dogs so keep playing it on Crufts' Facebook page as every dog 'adopted' = £1 for Blue Cross animal charity!

After having a great time at the Samsung stand, my humans came across a HUGE dog named Titch who works for charity Support Dogs and then went over to their stand to meet my good Twitter pals, @Cassie_Spaniel and @Hetty_BG. Unfortunately, they didn't see Hetty but they got a quick snap of Cassie snoozing!

Hopefully, my humans will get a snuggle from Hetty and Cassie today!
Afterwards, they went over to the Main Arena to watch the impressive International Heelwork To Music (Freestyle) competition. Woah, those dogs were good- even better than me...!

My humans then went for a quick lunch, queued to get back into the arena and then watched some fast-paced flyball. It was fun and lively, with my humans screaming for who they wanted to win!
They then watched two agility competitions which were great. Dad said 'That was the best competition I've watched!'

Then, my humans scurried over to the English Springer Spaniel ring to see the judge choose the winner but were too late! They did get a picture of the winner (on the left) and second and third positions though.
As my humans were exhausted, they didn't stay for the Gundog group judging though they really did want to! All of us were supporting the Springer but, unfortunately, they didn't win. He was lovely- how could the judge not have chosen him?! We know we would've ;)
Have a great day at Crufts if you're going today!

20 Years of Samsung's Partnership with Crufts!

Yes, that's right: Samsung has been working to help dogs since 1993!
As a proud Partner of Crufts, this year Samsung is holding many spectacular events in and out of the biggest dog show in the world.

At home, all Facebook users can help 2,000 dogs by using the Help-A-Dog-A-Thon app here. For every 'adoption' of a virtual pet on the app, Samsung will donate £1 to animal charity Blue Cross; the
more you play, the more dogs you help! For more information, scroll down my blog.

At the show itself, you could be in with the chance of winning a Samsung Galaxy Camera or many other things by visiting the Samsung stand in Hall 3, Stand 72. The whole stand is going to be split into various different zones (more information in previous blog post!) and, at each of these zones, there will be fantastic activities for you to try out with many of the zones letting you try out the best Samsung technology!
A full schedule of what will be happening everyday from the 7-10th March is shown below:

Visit the stand at any time on one of the four days and have some fun!

Samsung's Incredible Crufts Stand!

As an official Crufts blogger for Samsung and the Kennel Club, I've just been informed of some very exciting news: I've just found out about what Samsung's Crufts stand has to offer and, trust me, it's brilliant! I'm going to be spilling the beans in this very blog post...
First of all, the area that they are based in Hall 3 is split up into different zones where each will hold an individual activity for you to enjoy.
The first zone is the 'Smart TV Zone' which offers a cosy area for dogs to relax. Calming music that has been proven to reduce stress in animals will be playing and humans can play snuggly videos! In addition, visitors will be able to experience the true 3D SMART effect on a TV. Not only will that be happening, at 2pm every day, staff will be showing how to play 'Angry Birds' on the SMART TV and then 30 lucky people will play the game to be in with the chance of winning an amazing prize- your very own Galaxy Camera!
The second zone is the Galaxy Note II Lounge where you can try out the new S Pen and the new features on S Note. Visitors will be able to decorate photos using the brilliant gear so why not give it a try?
The third zone allows everyone to try out the world's first LTE camera- it's the Galaxy Camera Lounge! With its huge 121.2mm screen and 21x optical zoom, you could be sitting on a comfortable couch and giving the camera a go at ease.
The fourth zone lets you create your very own postcard which you will be able to send to a loved one with different themes (either love, congratulations or thank you). Just choose a background picture, take a photo, write a message and e-mail it off!
The Chromakey Zone is a place where visitors can decorate photos using the Note S Pen and then print it off and put it in a frame where you will be able to treasure your work!
Round up, round up! The final zone is the 'Right or Wrong' Quiz Zone where an enthusiastic presenter will be hosting an interactive quiz on basic knowledge and common misunderstandings of dogs. Get involved and have some fun!

I don't know about you but I reckon Samsung's stand is going to be pretty special so visit Hall 3, Stand 72 and give all these great activities a go!.

Samsung's Work for Dogs!

Samsung has been a proud Partner of Crufts since 1993 and they still continue to help hundreds of dogs every year. This year they've partnered with Blue Cross to improve the lives of 2,000 dogs through the Help-A-Dog-A-Thon app which you can find here.
Not only do Samsung help dogs in the UK, they also help animals all around the world! The company is involved in funding Samsung Guide Dogs for the Blind, the only one of its kind in Korea, where the amount of dogs being trained is increasing every year- and that's not all. In addition to that, on the other side of the planet to me here in the UK, Samsung works in collaborating to the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Guide Dog School to ensure that its trainers are certified to the highest possible international standards!
To recognise all of Samsung's brilliant work, the company received the Lesley Scott-Ordish Award from leading UK charity PRO Dogs for its outstanding services for the benefit of dogs.
The work that Samsung do for all us doggies is incredible and I'd personally like to thank them for all of it- thanks Samsung!
