Proof that Westie is the Bully.

Yes, you heard me: I have proof that I am not the one that harms Westie; he harms himself.
After I casually walked in from the garden today, I found Westie causing yet more trouble by being mean to Scottie, my pal- when does he ever stop? I quickly charged over to him and interrupted his attempt to take down my little friend by grabbing hold of Westie and lifting him off. As I ran off holding him with my jaw, the humans yelled my name.
What now?
They ran over holding their silly iBone and waved it around at my face. Groan. They were snapping photos AGAIN. However, then I realised that this wasn't as bad as I had first thought; this would be proof that Westie is the bully, not me! I posed for the camera and they took this:

There humans, there is the proof!
I'm sure that from this image they'll know I have never been the culprit of chewing Westie's ear off.
Fingers crossed they haven't looked at that photo in the wrong way...

Noooo, don't go!

The wonderful stuff that is snow is sadly melting away in front of my very eyes... As you can imagine, I am very, very upset. I've had an amazing couple of days eating all that lovely stuff but now that's not possible.
Why can't snow stick around for 7 months of the year?
Ok, so 7 months may seem a strange timescale to you but there's logic behind it: I like winter a little more than summer so if the sun could shine brightly for 5 months and then it snow for the rest of the year that would be great!
Without snow, you can't:
  • eat it
  • make snow angels
  • have snowball fights
  • dig holes in it...
However, I guess that snow leaving is not all a bad thing. It means that spring is coming which means... CRUFTS- the biggest dog show in the world- is nearing!
The more long-term readers amongst you will have probably realised that I am a big fan of dog shows and I find Crufts awesome. Although I have never attended myself, that doesn't mean I haven't benefited from the show...
A large dog show = lots of shops = lots of treats to buy = lots of treats for me!
If you want more information on this AMAZING show, visit www.crufts.org.uk.

Snow is falling, all around me...!

Today, I woke up disappointed.
There was no snow whatsoever.
All across the news, there were updates on traffic disruptions and plain havoc due to a heavy dump of snow in some areas of the UK. My area was not one of these.
However, this changed and, yes, it SNOWED!
I've had such an awesome day playing in all that lovely white stuff that falls from the sky; here's a short video of me running free!

At the park, my human also took lots of photos of me so here are a few:

I hope you've all had as much fun as I have today and fingers crossed we can all play in it tomorrow as well! Talk soon, Jasper x

Snow? What snow?

For the past few days, I've seen lots of doggies tweeting about how much they've been enjoying the snow. I would've loved to have been one of these doggies but no, I wasn't. And you know why? Because where I live there was a pathetic amount of snow; by pathetic, I mean REALLY pathetic. As you may already know, I love eating, rolling in and running in snow but this wasn't possible when it snowed yesterday. When you looked into the sky, it looked quite heavy but when you looked at the floor, well, there was NOTHING. Apparently, tomorrow it is going to snow heavily but I highly doubt that from what I've seen so far... My human has had her weekend away cancelled due to this supposed snow- I'm not complaining though...! On the bright side, my human has said that she wants to take some more photos of me at my favourite park again which means lots of treats and time with my best toys- yey! If it does end up snowing where you are, remember to snap some photos of your doggie out playing in it on Twitter so I can see what fun their having.
Talk soon (well, maybe not that soon if it DOES snow), Jasper x

Introducing... Westie

In this post, I thought I'd introduce you to my friend *cough* enemy *cough*, Westie. Some of you may know Westie, some of you may not, but he plays a big part in my life. Our relationship began a few months back, on a lovely, spring day. After a long day at work, my human had just returned home. She was so happy to see me but as she walked towards the kitchen door, the smile that had been on her face disappeared. She stopped walking and was looking down at something on the floor: Westie. 'Jasper!' She'd cried, 'what have you done?'
'Nothing,' I replied, confused about what she was accusing me of now.
'Look!' She pointed at Westie's knitted head. 'His ear has been chewed off!'
I stopped walking. Slowly, I turned my head towards Westie and, sure enough, one of his ears was not to be seen. 'I don't know how that happened,' I started. It was true, I didn't have clue about how this had happened and I was being blamed for it. It wasn't me!
And then I knew how it had happened: Westie had chewed his OWN ear off to get ME into trouble!
I was so angry. He was jealous of how much the humans snuggle me and wanted to get the attention.
Westie was taken off the floor (just as he wanted) and put on the sofa where he could be snuggled while I lie on the cold, hard floor.
Ever since that awful event, Westie has continued to chew himself and I have continued to get the blame. I don't think that's fair, do you? Especially when it definitely wasn't me. Definitely not. Why would I do a thing like that? I mean, the human occasionally thinks she has actually SEEN me chew him but of course not- he's obviously just chewing himself right in front of me.
So, the next time I get accused of eating that evil little dog, remember to tell my humans that it definitely was NOT me! Talk soon, Jasper x

End of the Holidays...

It's now the end of the Christmas holidays which means the humans have gone back to work. Boooo.
I've loved spending more time with them all but sadly this time had to arrive at some point. However, I've got to think of the positive: I get more sleep! Sleeping is probably up there amongst my favourite things; I love tweeting my friends, eating sausages, blogging, eating sausages, going out on walkies and eating sausages. Another thing that I can now add onto my list of favourite things is Instagram. Only last Sunday did I set up an account on there so now I can upload lots and lots of photos. Also, another thing I like about the app is that I can look at loads of photos of all you doggies out there! It's fascinating to see how similar I am to some springers but how different I look to others... And I like the fact that others also have my awesome hairdo- the Spike! So, if you have an Instagram account and want to check out my photos, follow me @JaspertheSpringer.
Can't wait to see your photos- talk soon, Jasper x

Happy Birthday Mum!

Yesterday, it was my (human) mum's birthday!
As I heard her walk down the stairs in the morning one year older, I began to decide how I was going to say hello to her as I wanted to make her day extra special. I thought long and hard but eventually decided on... A MASSIVE JAZZY SNUGGLE! Everyone wants a hug with me as I am an expert snuggler so I thought I'd treat her to one. As she approached the door, I got ready to go: 1...2...3...SNUGGLE! I jumped into her arms and gave her lots of licks which I'm sure she appreciated. After the ceremonious hug, I ran and jumped on the sofa and got ready for her to sit down as I had another surprise in store for her: I was going to do the 'wiggle'. The wiggle is a move I only pull out of the bag every so often and it involves jumping on top of the human's head and rolling about on it- I find it hilarious! As she came closer and closer, I eyed her so I didn't miss a move of what she was doing. She lowered herself down and... I couldn't do it. Mum is quite tall compared to the other two humans I can perform this on (not Dad, he'd go mad!) and, although I did try, I ended up just rolling on her lap. Luckily, I think she possibly liked this more...

Download photo.JPG (123.4 KB)Once all the humans were up, it was time to open her presents. The first present was massive but thin and was covered in lots and lots of wrapping paper, perfect for me. I know everyone appreciates me helping them open their presents as it gets the job done with so much quicker. Before Mum could even tear a bit of the paper, I got stuck right in. It was so much fun! I used every present-unwrapping skill I had: I was clawing it, ripping it with my mouth, sticking my nose it in... And finally the worked paid off and it was open. 'Oh my paws,' I had thought 'It's a dog bed!' I tried to roll on it but it was very uncomfortable. I looked at it again and then realised; it was a door mat, not a dog bed. It was an extremely pretty door mat but, unfortunately, it was not for me. But maybe the next one was? The human opened the next present- this time it was in a gift bag- and I stuck my nose in the bag. She pulled out a small box. 'Ooh, it could be a dog tag,' I had thought. Sadly, it wasn't. It turned out to be a pair of pretty earrings. This process was repeated a few more times and none of the turned out to be for me. I was pretty disappointed. Oh well, Mum had an awesome birthday and that is what means the most.

The Incident In The Park...

Hi there.
Oh dear, something happened in the park yesterday that has never happened before...

I was going for my first walk of the day to my local park with one of my humans and her friend. I was on my best behaviour and was running after the ball the human threw for me and bringing it back I normally do but then I smelt the perfume of something in the air- another dog. As I looked over, I saw a white-and-gold coated puppy trotting along on the other side of the park. I don't know what made me do it but I dropped my ball and started to walk along, then jog along and then sprint along to where this puppy was... And she started sprinting off! Obviously, I thought she wanted to play so I started chasing her across the football pitch but then I noticed something was wrong; my human was shouting my name with a stern tone to it and that always mean something's up. I glanced back at her and stopped running- what was I doing?! I never like it when bigger dogs try and play with me when I don't want to and now I realised that I was the bigger dog and the puppy didn't want to join in with my fun! I quickly ran back to my human, picking up my tennis ball along the way. I felt really bad as I never meant to be mean; I just wanted to have a game. Thinking back now, that puppy was probably too young to realise I was playing so was probably running off in panic... The puppy's owner scooped her up and brought her over to where I was sitting so I could apologise and she gave me a good old sniff- I'm sorry little dude!

I'm going to buy some treats for her and post them through the door as I feel so guilty now. I've never done that before and I know for sure I won't be repeating that act...

My Resolutions for 2013!

Hi there!
This year, I am hoping to have another awesome 12 months- but doing what, you ask? Well, first of all, I am going to watch Crufts on TV because I'm not allowed to go myself. Then, in May, I am hoping to compete at the London Pet Show in Earls Court Two which would be great! Following that, I am planning on doing more fun competitions for practise and afterwards, in November, I am wishing to be back at Discover Dogs again! Throughout the year, I am going to pester the human to take even MORE photos of me as I personally don't think she takes enough at the moment...!
So, my targets for this year are:
  1. To compete in another Crufts qualifier- I love them!
  2. To blog more- although I am very busy, I am going to try and blog 3-4 times a month
  3. To find a tennis ball in the park every time I go on walkies
  4. To persuade the human to buy me more sausages for me- you can never have too many
  5. To carry on practising my heelwork to music
  6. To work hard at agility and to conquer the collapsible tunnel for once and for all!
  7. To finally catch a squirrel- worth a try, anyway...
  8. To drag my human into the river with again- I've never laughed so much!
  9. To be the perfect model for the camera
  10. To get lots and lots of snuggles off my humans!
I'm going to have to work hard to complete those targets but I'm sure they can be done (apart from number 7, maybe...). 2013 looks set to be another busy year but talk soon, Jasper x

Happy New Year!

Hi there- happy New Year!
I can't believe it's now 2013; 2012 went by too fast! Although it was such an eventful year with the Olympics in my hometown, I have loved every minute of it. I began the year with Crufts, the biggest dog show in the WORLD. Although I didn't go myself, the humans went on both the Saturday and Sunday and had an incredible time. They even saw Ashleigh & Pudsey- before they'd won Britain's Got Talent- performing in the Young Kennel Club ring! Then, during National Microchipping Month, I took part in my town's 'Dog Olympics'... And won the agility competition! My humans were very proud of me and I was so pleased- I had never won anything before that! The month after, it was the opening of the London 2012 Olympics; man, that was one awesome event! Okay, so maybe I didn't see any of the events up close but I watched pretty much everything on TV (whilst chewing rawhide and snoozing in my bed...)- well done Team GB! After an eventful summer, it was then time for London's biggest dog show, Discover Dogs, and for me to compete in a grooming competition there. Discover Dogs is definitely one of the highlights of my year as it never fails to be exciting! To round 2012 off, my human had a feature in the Young Kennel Club magazine, Fetch, which I was included in- how cool is that?!
Thank you for helping make my 2012 as epic as it was and I can't really believe that my blog is 2 years old now!
 Here's to a great 2013!
